One of the most interesting dives for any certified scuba diver is the shark dive. During most dives in the Caribbean, seeing a shark is actually a rare occurrence and considered a bonus since they dont tend to stay around very long if they are sighted anyway. One quick glimpse and they are gone in the distance. This is why the shark dives in the Bahamas were developed. Its a way to give daring scuba divers a chance to see many sharks up close. These shark dives are available in both Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas. I had an opportunity to do one of these shark dives during a dive trip to Nassau in the island of Providence.

I went with the scuba operator Dive Dive Dive although Stuart Coves also offers shark dives. It was a two tank dive and when we got to the first dive site called Williams Wreck, there were already a few Caribbean reef sharks circling underneath the boat. These precise standards were set by mathematician and gem enthusiast Marcel Tolkowsky. He calculated the exact angles and dimensions of the diamonds facets (surfaces) to reflect the most light and gives the diamond its famed brilliance.

Fashion

Like any other man-made ornament, diamond cuts are also heavily influenced by the fashion of the day. In the Art Deco period, the baguette (it accentuates a diamonds luster but plays down the fire) was the favorite.

Today, the princess cut is gaining popularity, mostly among younger women. It is a favorite among diamond cutters because it uses most of the crystal in the original stone.

Since the past decades, there had been modifications of diamond cuts. These new cuts are seen to be more on trying to adapt a brand differentiation rather than actual improvements.

Shapes

The round diamond is the most popular today. It has 57 facets (or 58 including the culet). By far, it displays the most fire and scintillation among all.

Cut into a square with 90 degrees angle on each corner, the princess cut brings out a tremendous amount of brilliance, second only to the round.

Heart-shaped diamonds are the most sentimental of all. It is also the hardest to find.

Radiant diamonds are rectangles with rounded corners. What make it special are the patterns of the facets that makes it look like cracked ice.

Invented in the 60s, the oval diamond is similar to the round brilliant, except for the ovate shape. One can see a visible bow-tie on top.

Designed in 1902, the Asscher is often called the square emerald cut. It has cropped corners that give it a distinctive elegance.

The emerald cut, rectangular or square, has beveled corners. It has a window-like transparency giving it a classic beauty.

The marquise has 56 facets, elongated and has pointed ends. Reportedly, it had been inspired by the smile of the Marquise de Pompadour and created for Louis XIV.

The pear cut looks more like a teardrop. It shows off best as a pendant or on earrings.

The cushion cut or the candlelight has larger facets and rounded corners to increase their sparkle under candlelight.

The corners of a triangle diamond may be pointed or rounded. The body shape is defined by the cutter or the stones characteristics.

Recently, for the first time in over 2,200 years the seven wonders of the world were reassessed. Over 100 million people voted and decided that the Great Wall of China, Romes Colosseum, Chichen Itza in Mexico, Petra in Jordan, Machu Picchu in Peru, Rios Christ the Redeemer and the Taj Mahal would make the best new wonders.

Certainly narrowing down the finalists from an initial list of hundreds can have been no easy task most countries can probably compile a list of seven themselves. Cuba, which is of course my speciality, has many architectural and cultural triumphs worthy of celebration. Hell, even Havana itself has enough aesthetic wonder and cultural heritage for me to wax lyrical for several pages. In the interests of brevity and in matching the arbitrary figure placed on the number of wonders allowed in one world, I shall limit my list to seven sites worth examining on a Havana holiday.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present (in no particular order)

The Seven Wonders of Havana

Plaza de la Revolucin

The enormous square has seen many political rallies and the feel of history and importance of the area is tangible. The squares podium has seen many important political speeches from Fidel Castro and other prominent figures on important days in the Cuban calendar. While Castro is infamous for his long speeches, the public events always prove popular, attracting over 1,000,000 Cubans over the years.

The square is dominated by the impressive Jos Mart memorial a tower in honour of a national hero killed in the 1895 Second war of Independence. At 138 feet high, the imposing structure is the highest point in the city and visitors may take a lift to the very top of the building. Behind the memorial are the offices of Fidel Castro himself, and opposite is the iconic image of Che Guevara that marks the Ministry of the Interiors building a staple sight on any Havana holiday.

Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

This modern art museum is divided into two distinct part. The Colleccin de Arte Cubano is dedicated to Cuban art created between the 16th and 20th century, while The Colleccin de Arte Universal has a far wider scope. It includes art from Italian, French and Dutch painters as well as including artefacts from Latin America and ancient Greece.

Cigar Factories

Cuba is practically synonymous with the word cigars and a visit to one of the three major Cuban cigar factories in Havana can give a good indication as to why. The three main factories give tours which allow the visitors to see the hand rolled cigars in production. Partagas is the oldest factory (founded in 1827) and keeping with tradition hires a reader to entertain the workers by reading aloud. Partagas and the two other main factories, La Corona and Romeo y Julieta have shops attached which allow visitors to purchase cigars as souvenirs.

Museo de la Ciudad

The building that now houses Havanas museum treasures has a past that predates the revolution and evokes images of when Cuba was a non-Communist state. The building once housed the islands colonial governors and was the palace of the Captains General. Built in 1791, the museums exhibits give a feel of the history of Havana from the citys foundation to the present day. The museum naturally devotes a sizable section to the Cuban wars for national independence, but also houses a diverse range of other exhibits showcasing the islands art, porcelain, paintings, furniture, folklore and archaeology.

Capitolio Nacional

An important landmark in the centre of Havana, the Capitolio Nacional is an impressive site. It looks remarkably similar to the US Capitol in Washington DC, and is now home to the National Library and Academy of Sciences. Some of its rooms are also used for state events, in a nod to its history where it once seated members of the Cuban congress. Directly underneath the memorable dome, an imitation 24 carat diamond is set into the floor, which measures the distances between Havana and all Cubas other sites.

Habana Vieja

The old city was founded in 1519, and was often a target for pirates which explains the dilapidated, yet still imposing, remains of Havanas city walls. Nowadays the old city includes museums, hotels, shops and restaurants to line the picturesque cobble stoned streets. The plazas are marked by meticulously restored colonial buildings and attractive churches, which make the perfect backdrop for Havanas old city life as it goes by. The region also includes La Bodeguita Del Medio a bar made famous thanks to its patronage by Mr Ernest Hemingway.

Museo de la Revolucin

What used to be the Presidential Palace and Cuban Governments HQ is now fittingly a museum of the revolution that saw them ousted. The building is still aesthetically astounding, but the insides have changed to house pieces, photography and documents pertaining to the Cuban Revolution. The building isnt the only imposing sight upon approach to the museum out the front is the tank driven by Fidel Castro during the Bay of Pigs battle, and behind is the yacht that brought Che Guevara and Fidel Castro from Mexico to Cuba in 1956.

Aside from these main aesthetic Cuban wonders, there are countless other things to do in Havana. It is truly a magnificent city a one of a kind mixture of 1950s America and Caribbean lifestyle. If you are considering a holiday to Havana, this list will really help you get into the Cuban spirit and gain an insight into the rich history of the city.

Run analysis on what you figure to be the most common keywords searched for your site. Take a look at the websites that rank above you in the search engine results, this is your competition. Create a list of the top five websites and move on to step 2.

2.Quality Link Building
Find out who do your competitors link partner with? Make every attempt to link partner with high quality websites. There is tremendous value in linking to high quality websites. Find out who your competition has link to it. Take the highest ranking (quality) websites they are linked to, contact these websites, and set up a link partnership.

3.Perform a Keyword Analysis on the Competition
This allows you optimize your website for the same keywords. Keyword Density, how often a particular keyword appears in your website, is paramount for achieving high rankings in the search engines.

4.Rinse and Repeat
Steps 1-3 are the foundation for search engine optimization. 5.Your Keywords

You want these keywords to appear as early as possible on your page, but in a grammar friendly format. Listing keywords/phrases randomly on the page is a No No. The text content should read well with a good flow. The more keywords you can place in your content, the higher the Keyword Density. Alt Tags and Header Tags increase your Keyword Density.

8.Submit Your Website
Your website needs to be submitted to the major search engines in order for it to be seen in a timely manner. Google, MSN, & Yahoo, along with other major websites, make it available to you to submit your website for review. It is suggested to only submit a few pages a day to a couple of the major search engines. You do not want to perform this daily. Over submitting is a bad thing in the search engine world. Submit our pages a few times a week until you know you have been indexed.

9.Check Your Indexing
Go to the search engine of your choice, type in the keyword/phrase you are interested in, and see if your site has been indexed. You may have to run through a number of pages to find your URL. Once you find your URL, you then know that you have been indexed. You may want to give this a few weeks in order to be indexed.

10. Continue to Refine
Your SEO work is never complete. Getting ranked in the search engines is only the beginning. The on going work required to successfully rank high in the search engines never ends. Its because of the grueling, never ending, process that most people fail at SEO.

What I am saying here is to be flexible means to always be warmed up, flexible and ready. Flexibility is not a one shot deal to be explored at the beginning of your workout. Flexibility should be practiced regularly, throughout your workout. See, there are two types of flexibility, static and dynamic. Static flexibility is the range of motion that is in a joint when it is in a certain, stationary position. Dynamic flexibility is the range of motion that is in a joint when it is moving.

Once you find the secrets to ultimate flexibility, you will have more power, a higher fitness level, better relaxation, enhanced range of motion and a higher capacity to learn skilled movements. But it is a process to achieve this level of flexibility. Keep your muscles warm and you will have a greater range of motion. You can do static stretching exercises three times a week, but the dynamic stretching, the stretching that you do as you practice your art, is what will give you the most natural range of motion and flexibility.

When you stretch, do it slowly and there should not be any pain. If you go too far with your stretching, you will actually lose flexibility because your muscle will contract. Warm up first and do some static stretches, holding the stretch for 15 to 60 seconds but do not bounce! If you want to put yourself out of commission, you will bounce - not cool. Do some dynamic stretching like kicking and rhythmic bouncing. These are just some of the secrets to ultimate flexibility, but they will help you get flexible and get fit.

When my first book (The Cliffhanger) was published nearly seven years ago, I had high hopes of its success. I mean I am, after all, a PR person so how hard could it be to market fiction? Granted, up till that point I hadn't taken on a lot of fiction well, to be honest I hadn't taken any fiction. Fiction is tough and everyone knows it. But now I was going to get my chance, and what better way to start than on my own book? When The Cliffhanger hit the #1 spot on Amazon it was no accident, it was a creative push that got it to #1 and ironically, the pitch that prompted this Amazon soar had nothing to do with the book. Curious? Then read on.

When I was first pushing The Cliffhanger I did all the things a good fiction author is supposed to do. I sent out review copies, created a stunning press release, scheduled book events. All of these things were great, but they didn't give it the momentum the book really needed to succeed. The book signings were good, but a tad boring, the press was interested, but not enough to feature me more than once. I knew I needed to do something, but let's face it, when you're writing romance its tough to find a pitch that has the stickiness to it to, well, stick. When you're taking a fiction book to market you need to have more to hang your star on than a groovy story you need something the media can sink their teeth into, you need grit. That 'grit' is the reality piece of your story.

The truth is there's always a thread of reality that weaves through each piece of fiction. Find your reality and own it, if need be, craft your pitch around it. Let's say you wrote a book about a woman overcoming domestic abuse. You've done your research, you know the stats, in fact, you might even be considered an expert. Why not then turn a portion of your campaign into a domestic violence pitch? The same can be said for just about anything. They key here is to find that grain of reality and see if it's interesting enough to create a new peg. Once you've found your hook, own it. What I mean is become the expert on that hook and familiarize yourself with ever statistic, every study and every new trend.

When The Cliffhanger was released I soon realized that marketing romantic fiction was only going to take me so far, but marketing the method of printing was more unique. Why? Well, The Cliffhanger was one of the first books in the San Diego area to be published via print-on-demand. Hence, that became my story. Until the Presidential race of 2000. Now that was an entirely different story.

No doubt many of you will remember the counts, recounts, chads, and hanging chads, right? Well, one morning I woke up to find our local paper with the following headline: "Cliffhanger." I knew right then that if I couldn't find a hook to hang my star on that angle, I might as well hang up my marketing hat forever. It was at 3 a.m. that I woke up with an idea so stunning, I knew it had to work. I raced out to the office supply store the minute it opened to pick up several packs of clear labels. I got out the postcards I had printed with the book cover on them and stuck on labels with the following slogan:

I mailed 500 postcards out that day while praying the election wouldn't get called. I mailed these postcards to everyone in the media I'd ever contacted. Ever!

Days after my mass-mailing, I was walking through my living room, when suddenly I spotted my book cover on the screen. I was stunned. The local TV anchor was saying, "This has got to be the best thing I've ever seen. This lady wants you to go buy her book. I say everyone should rush out and buy it." And everyone did. That afternoon my book shot up to the #1 spot on Amazon, where it stayed for three months. It even beat out Harry Potter (which was #4 at that time), yet Harry got the movie. Go figure.

The point is that finding an "anchor" will help you push your campaign. This works for book events, too. If you've written a crime book, why not "theme" your event with DO NOT CROSS Police line tape (if you can get your hands on it) or some other prop? The key is to be unique, carry your theme throughout your marketing and hang your star on unique ways to promote your book.

But the second piece of this, the piece that's become all the rage recently, is the visual aspect of your book. Now I'm not talking about the cover, I'm talking about the movie. Yes, you read right. Your book, a movie. Now I'm not talking about a full-blown two hour motion picture. I'm talking about a movie trailer. Most recently several major publishers have started using book trailers to promote the fiction books they publish. Why? Because we are a very visual society, and if you're trying to distill the core of your book into a thirty-second elevator pitch, why not distill that same information into a trailer? Studies have shown that book trailers can increase book sales in excess of 30%. This is why most of the major publishers are jumping on the book trailer bandwagon. Still not convinced? Now here's a short list of tricks we've used to promote fiction:

* For a series of detective novels we worked with, we told the author that instead of pitching the book, we were going to pitch some of the intriguing unsolved mysteries. He became the unsolved mystery expert and when he did a book event, that's what he talked about. People were enthralled, and it also got him quite a bit of radio, too!

* For a chick lit book last year the author had one of her recipes (for Orgasmic cookies) come to life when she partnered with a local cookie company. The result? We had people writing us for copies of the book just so they could try this fabulous cookie.

* And what better place for a romance reading than a romantic winery? If you live near some wineries, don't hesitate to stop by there and ask if they'd like to invite you in for a reading.

Have you ever considered partnering with another author who has a similar title? Last year, I consulted with two authors who'd written books about Paris. I decided they might want to meet and partner up for events. They did, and the result was magnifique! Everyone loved the "evening in Paris" they'd created, and needless to say, they got lots of bookings!

The trick is, with all the fiction out there, you have to find a way to be different. Selling the story isn't always going to sell your book, but entertaining the reader or selling how the story affects the reader or how it can benefit them will. Find your anchor, hook, or story and you've found an audience.

Becoming a marketing story-teller isn't as hard as some people make it out to be, and whoever said fiction can't be marketed just didn't know how to tell a great story.

A Publically held company is always better as its much more transparent and open,i.e you can go online and see the companies figures and who is actually running it,they really can't have anything to hide if anyone can get access to the financials of the company.With Private companies you have no idea how they or the management are performing, and most importantly the compensation plan.Some are better than others as some only reward those people who got in first and pay the most to them.Other plans spread this out evenly across thousands of people meaning you trully get paid what you are worth.Put the effort and hard yards in and you'll get paid that,do just a little and thats what you 'll get paid.NOT MUCH!!

There is only ever so much money that can be paid out to associates every week.If I were to ask you which of these is better I'm sure you'd all respond the same way.Would you rather have a 30% payout or a 70% payout ? pretty easy answer right ? Wrong and this is where so many people get taken for a ride.Let me explain here.Firstly if the company is paying 70% to its associates its not going to be around for very long,industry research has it that around 30-40% is the maximum a company can pay out for any sustained period without going bankrupt or having other financial challenges that threaten your income stream.And as there are many example of companies that have failed throughout the last 50 years these stats are very important and relevant.So the next time someone says "you have to join xyz company with me as we pay 70 % which is sooooo much more than anyone else" you'll be able to tell them where to get off.

Next is another overlooked piece of the puzzle.Lets say you find a company that is paying 40%, which is a good commission rate, are they paying millions every week to the top associates of the company or are they sharing that around to all ? This is another trap for young players.If the company is paying 80% of all commissions to the top 20% of associates there wont be many new people making pay checks when they get started.This creates a large casualty list and means that you need to work even harder to maintain your organisation as it grows.If the company is spreading that 80% across a larger pool of associates it allows new people to earn paychecks right out of the gate and keep them motivated longer.The rule of thumb here is that if an associate doesnt make a check in the first 2-3 months they will most likely lose motivation and interest and leave and there is statistics to prove this.I have infact seen this many times personally in my own business.

When researching a companies products dont use sales statistics to try to prove whether a particular product is better than another.A friend of mine tried to convince me that a certain companies product was the best because it had $50US Billion worth of sales per year and the second ranked company had only $30 Billion.Sales figures are one thing but what does the science tell us? This was a Nutritional Supplement product that has been around for years and is a recognised brand .But is it better that the rest just because of the sales figures ? NO. Seek out non biased independant scientifically balanced knowledge not just sales stats or any other fluff that people use to tell you "ours is better".

Longevity is another important piece of the puzzle to.NEVER EVER EVER EVER jump into the latest start up craze company that just launched and everyone is saying "get in at the top or miss out". Most of this is just junk and lies.look for a company with at least 5 years trading record ,look at the share price ,is it growing or declining ?. Is it a field that is set to grow massively in the next ten years ? eg the health and wellness industry is set to explode due to baby boomers aging.History tells us that where ever this group of people have been as they age they have created a need for products and services.Dont join an mlm company that sells the rubix cube for example as that craze is over.

And finally dont forget to chose an industry or company with unique consumable products that people need.
